Attack Ads, Circa 1800

I really dig Reason.tv, but they’ve outdone themselves here. Truly the best clip I’ve seen all day.

Awesome.

O’Reilly: Why NPR and PBS Do Not Deserve Our Money

O’Reilly makes some valid points, though he does seem a little too hung up on the whole lack-of-balance issue. My reason for de-funding these organizations is a little more basic: there’s no need for the government to provide TV and radio programming when there are plenty of commercial channels available. Let the free market do its thing, and stop giving money away.

“Teacher’s Unions Gone Wild”

Not sure how much I trust James O’Keefe, as he pretty much blew his credibility to shreds when he tried to seduce a CNN reporter.

That being said, I’m not a fan of unions. I’m pretty sure an organization that keeps incompetent employees from being fired is contrary to how a free market is suppose to work.

British-Style Eugenics

Glenn Beck, among others, has been reporting on Virginia Ironside’s recent comments about smothering suffering children on the BBC:

Needless to say, the outrage is pretty widespread. I always figured a mom would want her kid CURED to end the suffering, not dead. Seems I’m not alone.

However, something else in the Guardian’s article about this controversy caught my eye:

Her latest comments were made as doctors prepared to lobby for a change in the law to allow people to help the terminally ill to die.

Well, a quick google search yielded this: “Doctors and nurses launch campaign for right to help terminally ill to end their lives”. Basically, a doctors’ group in the UK wants to legalize assisted suicide. Now, it could be argued that a person deserves the right to decide when to end their own life. I’m not denying that. I’m just a little scared as to what doors this will lead us to open next.

Reason.tv: What We Saw at the “One Nation Working Together Rally”

To be honest, I can see why socialism, at least on paper, appeals to people. It looks like it could end poverty and suffering, and who doesn’t want that? None of these people seem like crazy “pinkos” out to destroy the United States; they’re just people who want a better future.

However, to jump on this bandwagon, one must ignore history, and I simply cannot.

Airport Lobbies Possible Terror Targets in European Plot, Official Says

I suspect a day is coming when you won’t be allowed in an airport parking lot, much less the airport itself, if you aren’t actually flying somewhere.

Seriously?: Proud Socialists March at Left-Wing Protest in DC

Only 21 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and Socialism and Communism are looking like a real threat to the U.S. Pity how quickly people forget the failures of these systems.
