<p>I&#8217;m no military expert, but I&#8217;d guess that any war that goes on this long will lose voter support.  It just seems to be dragging on with no end in sight, and nobody wants a modern version of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Years'_War" target="_blank">Hundred Years War</a>.</p>

<p>The jury is still out on whether a surge would work in Aghanistan.  However, I find it quite funny that the guy who opposed the surge in Iraq is now trying to promote one in Afghanistan <span style="font-weight:bold;">just so he can say he supported it!</span></p>
